Cruise line operators have canceled cruises to China after the outbreak of the coronavirus in China. The new virus that first appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December has so far killed over 100 people and infected approximately 6,000 others.
The Italian brand of Carnival Corporation & plc, this week officially took delivery of Costa Venezia, its first ship designed specifically to offer the best of Italy to the Chinese market. Costa Venezia is part of an expansion plan that includes a total of seven ships being delivered to the Costa Group by 2023.
Costa Crociere to welcome four new cruise ships by 2021. Between 2019 and 2021 four new ships will enter service with the Italian cruise line, based in Genoa, Italy, for an overall increase in passenger capacity of 43%. In February 2019, the company will welcome the new Costa Venezia, currently under construction at the Fincantieri plant in Monfalcone.
