Good news for the Southern Hemisphere from Seatrade Cruise, New Zealand will be reopening its maritime borders on 31 July, after two years, with the first return, Majestic Princess scheduled to call in Auckland on 16 October.
Falkland Islander Debbie Summers was this week voted in as Chair of Cruise New Zealand, the leading voice for the country’s cruise sector. Currently Executive Director of ID New Zealand Destination Management, Debbie left the Falklands nine years ago having progressed the Islands’ cruise ship industry as Tourism Manager for Sulivan Shipping Ltd.
A gala ball was held on 12th May to highlight the achievements of the tourist industry in the Falkland Islands and to present awards for notable contributions to the development of tourism in the Islands.
