  Evo said to have raped and impregnated underaged girls during his presidency

  

  Former Bolivian Government (Interior) Minister Eduardo Del Castillo said Friday he had evidence that former President Evo Morales (2006-2019) raped minors during his time in office. The Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) presidential hopeful for the Aug. 17 elections added he could support these allegations with documentation, testimonies, and photographs. He also noted there were multiple victims, some of whom became pregnant.

  Bolivia's ruling party launches Gov't Minister's presidential bid and has him deal with Evo's protest

  

  Bolivia's ruling Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) confirmed Friday that Government (Interior) Minister Eduardo del Castillo would contend for the presidency in August with peasant leader Milán Berna as his running mate. The announcement came after President Luis Arce Catacora said he would not be seeking reelection to appease the already heated country.

  Bolivian authorities arrest 21 in connection with failed coup

  

  A total of 21 people both military or civilians have been arrested so far in connection with Wednesday's failed coup d'état against the administration of President Luis Arce Catacora, Government Minister Eduardo del Castillo confirmed Friday in La Paz. “So far there is a total of 21 people apprehended in the case called failed coup d'état,” the official said.

  Former Bolivian interim President harms herself in apparent suicide attempt

  

  Former Bolivian interim President Janine Áñez was hospitalized following self-inflicted injuries believed to be a suicide attempt after learning she had been charged with genocide for two massacres in the 2019 events surrounding the resignation of Evo Morales and her accession to power.

  Bolivian Government files charges against former military, police chiefs and Argentine ambassador

  

  The Government of Bolivia Monday announced charges were to be filed against former police and military chiefs as well as a former Argentine ambassador for the shipment of arms which resulted in the toppling of Evo Morales from power in 2019.
