  China companies targeting Brazil to manufacture electric vehicles

  

  With the European Union and United States strongly limiting imports of electric vehicles, EV, from China, exports of manufactured pure electric and plug-in hybrid cars to Brazil soared 13-fold year-on-year to 40,163 units in April, making it the biggest export market for a second straight month, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

  Europe bans sales of fossil fuel-powered cars as of 2035

  

  The European Parliament approved the draft regulation ending the sale of new petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles by 2035, it was reported Tuesday. The measure was passed by 340 votes in favor, 279 against, and 21 abstentions.

  UK car production falls 40.5% to pre-pandemic levels; electric cars manufacturing boom

  

  The United Kingdom car production fell to its lowest level since 1956 in 2022 as output was hit by global shortages of semiconductor chips, figures show. A total of 775,014 cars were built in 2022, down 9.8% from the 859,575 made during the previous year, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said.

  Paraguay: Electric cars almost sold out amid increase in price of fuel

  

  Paraguayan traders of electric cars have nearly run out of stock as demand grew above projections due to the increasing price of fuel, it was reported Friday in Asunción.
