  Theresa May contains Brexit defeat with last minute concessions to pro-EU Tories

  

  Theresa May has seen off a potential defeat over her flagship Brexit bill, after last-minute concessions which could give MPs a bigger say on the final withdrawal agreement and make a “no-deal” exit much less likely. MPs voted by 324 to 298 to reject a House of Lords amendment to the EU Withdrawal Bill which would have given MPs the power to tell the Prime Minister to go back and renegotiate the Brexit deal.

  Welsh Assembly supports EU Withdrawal Bill after months of talks and heated debate

  

  A majority of Welsh assembly members have given their consent to a controversial Brexit bill. It follows the UK and Welsh governments reaching agreement on changes to the EU Withdrawal Bill after months of talks. Labour, Welsh Conservative and UKIP AMs supported the Welsh Government's position in a heated debate on Tuesday, while Plaid Cymru opposed the move.

  The Scottish Government’s Brexit bill passed on Wednesday its first parliamentary hurdle after its general principles were approved by MSPs. The UK Withdrawal from the European Union (Legal Continuity) (Scotland) Bill is being sped through the Scottish Parliament as emergency legislation amid a row between UK and Scottish ministers over devolved powers returning from Brussels.
