    Falklands' war “ARA Santisima Trinidad” refloated in Puerto Belgrano

    The Type 42 destroyer assembled in Argentina, 'Santisima Trinidad' at one time the escort of the former aircraft carrier, 25 de Mayo

    After almost three years tilted and sunken in Argentina's main naval base, Puerto Belgrano, the British built missile destroyer, 'ARA Santisima Trinidad' was finally refloated. The plan is to recondition the unit which was involved in the 1982 Falklands conflict and convert her into a museum.

    MLA Summers said Resolution 2065 was based on a series of lies, deceptions and half truths put to UN by the then Argentine Ambassador José María Ruda.

    The United Nations was “royally deceived”, said Falkland Islands Member of Legislative Assembly Mike Summers in response to Argentina celebrating the 50th anniversary of a UN resolution that recognised the existence of a sovereignty dispute over the Falklands.

    “Malvinas Hall” in Comodoro Rivadavia recalls Air Force strikes command against UK Task Force

    The room in Comodoro Rivadavia from where the Argentine Air Force command operated its attacks on the Falkland Islands during the 1982 conflict has been renamed 'Malvinas Hall', and has been declared part of the city's heritage, a place where students and visitors can recall “the ever present Argentine claim over the Malvinas Islands, and the heroism of its pilots”.

    A fly-past by the French built Mirage that fought during the Falklands' conflict

    Last week the Argentine Air Force formally bid farewell to the remaining French built Mirage jet fighters, which saw combat during the Falkland Islands conflict in 1982, since in three months time they will be decommissioned after four decades service. The occasion was the 103 anniversary of the Air Force (10th August but celebrated on the 13th).
