FIFA Ethics Committee has banned Sergio Jadue and Luis Bedoya for life from all football-related activities at both national and international levels. The decision was revealed in a statement released on May 6.
Sepp Blatter, the president of FIFA, was facing a potential suspension this week as the independent ethics committee of world soccer’s governing body deliberated on whether to remove him, at least temporarily, while Swiss authorities investigate him for possible corruption.
The official chosen by FIFA to inspect 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosting candidates was banned from football for seven years for breaking ethics rules. FIFA’s ethics committee gave no reason for its decision to suspend Harold Mayne-Nicholls, a former president of Chile’s soccer federation who is disputing the sanction.
