  Falklands expects air links fully operational for the next tourist season

  

  The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) expects to reestablish commercial air links with Chile early next July, and with Brazil in November in time for the tourist high season, plus the humanitarian flights for the Argentine next of kin of the combatants buried at the Argentine military cemetery in Darwin.

  Falklands war anniversary: UK cities have scheduled a raft of events to mark the 40th anniversary of the conflict's end

  

  A series of lectures, memorials, exhibitions, and other events will be launched in the United Kingdom in the coming days to mark the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands War. The aim is to commemorate the sacrifices made in 1982 and to celebrate the progress made in the South Atlantic archipelago over the past 40 years.

  Falkland Islands reviews Covid-19 measures; changes to be enacted from 4 May

  

  As previously communicated, the Falkland Islands Government has recently reviewed all available options in terms of making changes to Covid-19 measures in a careful and measured way. This week Executive Council met to evaluate the proposed options, which included the latest public health guidance and legal advice. As a result, it has been agreed that from 4 May 2022, the existing Infectious Diseases Control (Coronavirus: International Travel, Operator Liability, and Quarantine) Regulations 2022 will be revoked, providing that specific conditions can be met.

  Falkland Islands Government retains their global S&P A+ rating

  

  The Falkland Islands Government confirmed on Thursday that, following a detailed review of updated fiscal and economic information, supported by a process of confidential interviews with FIG officers and representatives of the business community, S&P Global Ratings have confirmed the sovereign rating for the Falkland Islands remains at A+ with a stable outlook.

  Falklands Chamber of Commerce satisfied port project advances, but warns FIG on “gaps and issues”

  Compassionate charter flight for the Falklands' Chilean community on March 19

  

  Next March 19, a 'compassionate' charter flight with a capacity for 168 passengers, will be flying to Chile from the Falkland Islands, returning Saturday, April 9, 2022. The flight will only stop in both Punta Arenas and Santiago on the outbound and return journeys.
