    Falklands fishing companies anticipated the instant impact of the Brexit deal

    In anticipation of events to the new tariffs the Falkland Islands exports to the European Union must pay as the United Kingdom failed in obtaining an agreement on behalf of the islands in relation to Brexit, the Falkland Islands Fisheries Association released the following statement last December 12:

    Falklands fishing companies first reaction to the UK/EU post Brexit agreement

    From January first 2021 Falklands seafood products entering the EU will be subject to the Common External Tariff, of between six and eighteen percent

    The Falklands Islands Fishing Companies Association have made public a first reaction to the post Brexit agreement announced by the UK and the European Union, in which they assess the impact of the deal which excludes any consideration of exports from the Falklands to the EU:

    Falklands fishing companies launch new website and promotional video

    The idea of the event was to further raise the profile of the Falklands fisheries both domestically and internationally effectively re-branding FIFCAS

    The Falkland Islands Fishing Companies Association, (FIFCA) hosted a reception at the Historic Dockyard Museum in Stanley on Thursday the 31st May to launch their new website and promotional video. In attendance were invited guests that included HE the Governor Mr Nigel Phillips CBE along with Members of the Legislative Assembly, representatives of the Falkland Islands Government Fisheries Department, FIFCA members as well as the local media and press outlets.
