    Chile neglected the cultural battle and is now ruled by a Communist who is about to sink the country, Caputo argued

    The Chilean Government of President Gabriel Boric Font sent a protest note through diplomatic channels to Argentina after Economy Minister Luis Toto Caputo dubbed the leftwing leader a “Communist” who was sinking his country. Santiago said Caputo made “inappropriate and inaccurate statements” during a radio interview with a Buenos Aires broadcaster.

    Chile: Boric announces first child due in June

    Boric has been dating professional basketballer Paula Carrasco at least since September

    Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font announced through his Instagram account that he will become a father for the first time after conceiving a child with professional basketballer Paula Carrasco. He added to the posting an image of an ultrasound. “We will give the best of us so that the Chile we live in will be fairer and happier. We love you,” the head of state also wrote in a message to his child, due in June next year.

    The recent sex scandal involving former Interior Undersecretary Manuel Monsalve took its toll Sunday on the ruling coalition of President Gabriel Boric Font during the first round of municipal elections in which the opposition UDI, RN, and Evópoli emerged as the strongest rightwing forces nationwide with victories in 121 communes. Boric's allies prevailed in 111 and the Republicans of former presidential candidate José Antonio Kast in 8, including a surprising one in Puente Alto. All in all, Chile Vamos became the strongest political force nationwide.

    Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font's approval ratings fell sharply, according to a survey by pollsters Cadem Plaza Pública released in Santiago during the weekend.     Chile in mourning after murder of 3 Carabineros officers

    Boric decreed three days of national mourning and pledged to capture those responsible

    Three non-commissioned officers of Chile's Carabineros Police were killed early Saturday in an ambush in the town of Cañete, near the city of Concepción, in the Bío Bío region some 500 kilometers south of Santiago. The crime, which is still under investigation, shocked the entire country. President Gabriel Boric Font promised it would not go unpunished and other officials even called for the reinstatement of the death penalty.
