  Gibraltar invites Spanish treasury inspectors to dispel claims of tax evasion money

  

  Spanish treasury inspectors tasked with “tightening the noose” on Gibraltar have been invited to travel to the British Overseas Territory and talk to officials in a bid to debunk claims that the Rock is harbouring tax dodgers from Spain.

  Falklands at C 24 June 20; UN Committee supports sending missions to Non-self Governing Territories

  

  The United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization, or C 24, will be hearing the Falklands/Malvinas question in a week’s time, Thursday June 20, after having heard those relative to Gibraltar and Western Sahara on Wednesday 12 June.

  Gibraltar celebrates becoming UEFA 54th member with a 54p stamp

  

  A stamp has been issued to commemorate Gibraltar’s historic achievement of becoming the 54th Uefa member. The Government opted for a 54p value as Gibraltar is now the 54th member country. Stephen Perera photographed the embroidered badge from a new GFA team jersey and the GFA’s founding year of 1895 is clearly visible for the world to see

  Gibraltar becomes 54th member of UEFA and will dispute the Euro Cup 2016

  

  Gibraltar has been accepted as a full member of UEFA, European football's governing body. The application was approved on Friday on a majority vote at the organisation's congress in London, with no votes against and no abstentions.

  Falklands and other BOT should be given a seat in the Commons, says MEP Farage

  

  The Falkland Islands, Gibraltar and Britain’s other Overseas Territories should be given a seat in the Commons, UK Independent Party MEP Nigel Farage said on Tuesday. The UKIP leader claims their voices are dangerously ‘muted’ in Britain and they should be allowed to elect their own ‘MP for the Territories’, following on the French experience.

  Gibraltar: UK has no plans ‘at present’ to extend the 12 miles territorial waters around Gibraltar

  

  The British Government has no plans “at present” to extend British territorial waters around the Rock but does not rule out doing so in the future. The position was revealed in a statement by David Lidington, Britain’s Minister for Europe, in response to a question in the House of Commons.

  Reassurance for Falklands and Gibraltar

  

  By Harold Briley from London - The Falkland Islands and Gibraltar have been reassured by the British Government that it will protect their right to choose their own way of government. The pledge was contained in the Government’s programmer and new laws for the forthcoming session of Parliament, outlined in the traditional Queen’s Speech to both Houses of Parliament.
