Bullrich asks DEA to arrest Maduro in Buenos Aires

Argentina's opposition leader Patricia Bullrich, chairwoman of the Propuesta Republicana (PRO) party, a majority partner in the Together for Change (Juntos por el Cambio - JxC) alliance Sunday filed a request before the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro once he lands in Buenos Aires for the VII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

UK contribution to a Media Freedom Coalition and the safety of journalists

The UK has announced up to £600,000 for a new secretariat to help advance the work of the Media Freedom Coalition – a partnership of 50 countries working together to advocate for media freedom and safety of journalists and hold to account those who harm journalists for doing their job. The Coalition’s purpose is to defend media freedom where it is under threat.

UK praises Brazil for its continued commitment to human rights

The United Kingdom thanked Brazil for its continued commitment to the Universal Periodic Review process, which took place at the Palais del Nations in Geneva, during the 27th Session of the Universal Periodic Review on 21 September 2017. The UPR is a process which involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States. The UPR is a State-driven process, under the auspices of the Human Rights Council.
