  Chevening Alumni network in Argentina debate 'leadership' at British embassy

  

  The British Embassy and the Chevening Alumni Network in Argentina hosted the second edition of the Leadership Talks at the Ambassador’s Buenos Aires Residence. Mario Pergolini, Santiago Siri and Estanislao Bachrach took part in a new edition of the Chevening talks, on this occasion presented by Iván de Pineda.

  “The Falkland Islands is about people; it is not about rocks. It is about people’s right to lead lives as they wish to lead them. As people in Argentina can: to live in peace, prosperity. It is about making their choices and leading their lives and having their home as an expression of their wishes, not somebody else’s wishes. They should be able to self-determine their own futures”.

  Argentina strongly protests UK’s naming Queen Elizabeth land in Antarctica

  

  Argentina strongly protested on Friday Britain's decision to name a vast swath of Antarctica as Queen Elizabeth Land. The Foreign ministry handed a formal protest note to British Ambassador John Freeman in Buenos Aires.

  Falklands’ Argentine cemetery investigation extends to the UK and Malvinas families

  

  The investigation into the vandalized hermitage at the Argentine Cemetery in the Falklands has seen the local police investigation extend to the UK and Argentina. Forensic material has been sent to Britain and Falklands’ police have requested the Malvinas Families Commission to help identify the origin of a Spanish Bible with a message signed by a “Viviana” found inside the attacked shrine.

  Argentina presents official protest to UK over Malvinas cemetery vandalism

  

  The Argentine foreign ministry confirmed in a release that it had delivered an official protest to the United Kingdom repudiating “the profanation of the monument” in Darwin, Falkland Islands, to the memory of the Argentine combatants killed during the 1982 Malvinas war.

  First line diplomat and arms control expert next UK ambassador in Argentina

  

  The UK Foreign Office informed on Friday that John Freeman has been appointed new Ambassador to Argentina to replace outgoing Ambassador Shan Morgan, who has held the post since 2008.
