  Mrs. May Brexit deal will be put to a vote this week only if it has DUP and Tory MPs support

  

  Theresa May's Brexit deal will not return to the Commons this week unless it has support from the DUP and Tory MPs, the chancellor says. The PM's plan is expected to be voted on for a third time in the coming days. But Philip Hammond told the BBC's Andrew Marr that it would only be put to MPs if “enough of our colleagues and the DUP are prepared to support it”.

  Shadow Chancellor sets out conditions for Labour's support to a Brexit deal

  

  Brexit deal involving a customs union and a “close” relationship with the single market would win a majority in the Commons and have the backing of business, John McDonnell has said. The shadow chancellor said Labour MPs would vote in favor of a Brexit deal that “protects jobs and the economy” but acknowledged that was “not the way it is at the moment” under Theresa May’s strategy.

  Hammond “confident” despite admitting an “urgent and pressing” Brexit transition period

  

  Philip Hammond has said he is “confident” businesses will be given the Brexit certainty they need although he sidestepped calls to ensure transition principles are guaranteed by Christmas. The UK Chancellor acknowledged the principles of a transition period are “urgent and pressing”, also telling MPs the Government wants them agreed with the European Union “as soon as possible”.

  Corbyn names shadow cabinet; appeals to unity including people from centre of the party

  

  Jeremy Corbyn has named John McDonnell shadow chancellor and defeated leadership candidate Andy Burnham shadow home secretary. Hilary Benn will be shadow foreign secretary in the new Labor leader's first shadow cabinet. Lord Falconer will be shadow justice secretary, Angela Eagle will be shadow business secretary and Lewisham MP Heidi Alexander will oversee health.
