  The National Survey on Sexual and Gender Diversity 2021 released in Mexico during the weekend showed that 5% of the people of that country recognized themselves as members of the LGBTI+ community. In other words, 95% of the population of 126 million claimed to be heterosexual.

  First cryptocurrency for LGTBI + community launched in Spain

  

  Spanish traders have announced “Maricoin,” the new cryptocurrency created by and for the LGTBI + community, will be launched on Christmas Eve in Madrid. The new money will be accepted as of Dec. 31 throughout 25 gay-friendly businesses throughout Spain after the pilot test this coming Friday, Dec. 24.

  Vatican joins gender identity debate: it can “annihilate the concept of nature and destabilize the family institution”

  

  The Vatican has released a new document challenging modern conceptions of gender identity. The 31-page teaching guidance, released on Monday, is titled Male and Female He Created Them. It speaks of an “educational crisis” and says the current debate can “annihilate the concept of nature” and destabilize the family institution.

  Homophobic attack in London bus against gay couple; Chris is from US and Melaina, Uruguay

  

  Two women who were left covered in blood following a homophobic attack on a bus have said they will not be cowed into hiding their sexuality. Melania Geymonat, 28, from Uruguay and Chris, 29, US citizen say they were attacked by several males on the top deck of a London night bus in the early hours of 30 May after they refused to kiss one other.

  Argentina, UK to co-chair LGBT rights organisation for two years

  

  Argentina and the United Kingdom have been chosen Monday to co-chair the Equal Rights Coalition for two years starting next June, to succeed Chile and Canada at the helm of the first-ever intergovernmental organisation dedicated to the protection of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBT) people around the world.
