  Malvinas war veterans have taken their Human rights abuse case against Argentine officers to the Inter American Human Rights Commission, IHRC, following on Argentina's Supreme Court decision rejecting the case because of time limit.

  Malvinas war veterans will take their torture case to an international court

  

  Malvinas war veterans who had claimed to be victims of abuse and torture by their superior officers during the Falklands conflict of 1982 will take the matter up with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), the CECIM centre of former soldiers from La Plata announced.

  Falklands government has received no request, to date, for exhumations at Darwin cemetery

  

  To date (Monday) the Falkland Islands government has received no formal request for the exhumation and identification of the Argentine combatants buried at the Darwin Cemetery, was the reply from Gilbert House in Stanley to reports to that effect in The Independent, and in the Argentine media.

  Ushuaia Malvinas war veterans are planning a symbolic repeat of the Falklands military invasion by Argentine forces on the night of April first 1982, although this time the landing will take place along the Beagle Channel coast, according to reports from the capital of Tierra del Fuego in the extreme south of Argentina.

  Pope Francis blessed crucifixes and rosaries which will be taken to the Argentine and British cemeteries in the Falkland Islands by an Argentine war veteran. The Pope during the blessings called for peace “among the peoples” of the world.

  Argentine President Cristina Fernandez leaves Wednesday at 19.00 hours for New York where on Thursday afternoon she is scheduled to address the UN Decolonization Committee claiming sovereignty over the Falklands/Malvinas and other South Atlantic Islands as well as demand discussions with the UK over the future of those territories.

  Dozens were arrested and injured in downtown Buenos Aires when groups of former Argentine soldiers that fought during the Malvinas war clashed violently with the police demanding to be recognized as full veterans.
