  Argentine president Alberto Fernandez is planning to succeed his Mexican peer next 17 September as chair of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean Estates, CELAC, one of several regional organizations in the continent, but his luck seems to be in the will of a gnome dictator in one of the Caribbean Commonwealth islands, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

  Ecuador has requested to become a full member of the Pacific Alliance, an issue that was discussed by the country's president Guillermo Lasso during a recent visit to his Mexican peer Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. Mexico allegedly announced its full support for Ecuador to join the four countries, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile block, considered the most dynamic of the Americas.

  Of the 126 million Mexican population, almost 44% were considered poor at the end of 2020, according to official data from the government. In effect, 3,8 million Mexicans fell below the official poverty line last year to reach 56 million compared with the end of 2018, when current president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador took office.

  A resolution by the Organization of American States (OAS) condemning human rights violations and massive arrests of opposition leaders by Nicaragua was supported by 26 countries, opposed by three (one of them Nicaragua), while five nations abstained from voting either way. Argentina was one of them.
