  World Medical Association regrets Taiwan exclusion from WHO and condemns politicizing health

  

  In a letter to WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the leaders of the World Medical Association, WMA say that the WHO’s failure to listen to early warnings from Taiwan about the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with its decision to ignore Taiwan during much of the SARS crisis, were errors that led to the world paying a high price.

  World Medical Association deplores lack of sufficient personal protection for health professionals

  

  Leaders of the World Medical Association have described as ‘deplorable’ the fact that even in the world’s most affluent countries, health care professionals are having to deal with the coronavirus pandemic with insufficient personal protection. And they say that when the pandemic ends, there must be a political investigation into the availability and effectiveness of supply chains.

  Ex Brazilian minister calls for treating Argentina gently, “not with a cannon ball”

  

  Former Brazilian Industry and Foreign Trade Minister Miguel Jorge decided to weight in on the bilateral trade conflict currently affecting Brazil and Argentina, and surprisingly came out in defence of the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration, comparing President Rousseff’s move to impose non-automatic licenses on car and auto-parts imports as “firing a cannon ball.”

  Brazil Furious with Argentine “Scare Practices” Threatens Trade Retaliation

  

  Brazil is seriously considering retaliation against Argentina for new rules restricting food imports which allegedly compete directly with Argentine production. EU ambassadors in Buenos Aires made a similar presentation before the Argentine congress earlier this week.
