  Presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil and Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela met Friday in Kingstown, (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) to discuss issues concerning both countries, Agencia Brasil reported citing a statement from the Planalto Palace. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 8th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

  Venezuela's Supreme Court upholds Machado's electoral ban

  

  Venezuela's Supreme Court (TSJ) Friday upheld a decision by the Comptroller General's Office whereby opposition leader María Corina Machado may not run in this year's elections after having been disenfranchised despite garnering 92.35% of the votes in the Oct. 22 primaries. The TSJ also confirmed Friday the disqualification of two-time presidential candidate Henrique Capriles.
