  Fears of another foot and mouth disease outbreak in Paraguay

  

  Paraguay’ Livestock Sanitary Office has confirmed the isolation of a cattle farm in the north of the country where an apparent outbreak of foot and mouth disease has been reported. The farm is approximately 35 kilometres from the outbreak reported last September.

  The Southern Cone Standing Veterinary Committee, CVP, accused Paraguay of not complying with promises related to foot and mouth disease, FMD, control following on the outbreak reported to the north of the country last September 18.

  Paraguay with Russian help, checking cattle for FMD, hoping to resume exports

  

  Paraguay Animal Health and Food Quality Department (Senacsa) has started a cattle census in the north of the country where a limited outbreak of foot and mouth disease was reported last month.
