    Despite a long-term decline in flock size, Uruguay's wool and sheep sector is going through a boom driven by record-high international prices. Wool prices have reached their highest level in at least three years in the South American country, mirroring a dramatic surge in the Australian market.

    UK expert in Montevideo to promote British sheep genetics in Uruguay

    Henry Lewis, industrial partner of the UK Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is linked to British Export Certification

    A British expert in export certification is visiting Uruguay with the aim of promoting the regeneration British genetics in Uruguayan flocks. In Uruguay there are currently four sheep breeds of British origin: Suffolk, Romney Marsh, Hampshire Down and Southdown, in addition to British Texel.
