  Falklands’ lawmaker arrives in Uruguay to inform on business opportunities in the Islands

  

  Falkland Islands member of the Legislative Assembly Dick Sawle will be in Montevideo 2-6 September, after spending a week in Brazil involved in business, academia and informal political contacts sponsored by the Foreign Office. In Uruguay according to the official release MLA Sawle will inform about business opportunities with the Falklands and to strengthen the historical ties with Uruguay.

  Though plagued with flu and taking place largely in darkness, the recent visit to Norway by Members of the Legislative Assembly and senior government officials appears to have produced encouraging results and shone some light on possible developments in the Falkland Islands, according to MLA Dick Sawle.

  Falklands’ government contracts highly qualified staff for senior posts

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has announced the appointment of two senior officials. Simon Fletcher has been appointed to the role of Director of Central Services and succeeds Andrew Lee who previously held the position when it was titled Director of Procurement and Efficiency.
