  Brazil-Caribbean Summit: Lula highlights South-South cooperation

  

  Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva highlighted the developing South-South alliance during his opening speech at the Brazil-Caribbean Summit at the Itamaraty Palace. He also mentioned that cooperation with Caribbean countries would be one of the pillars of his foreign policy.

  Renew political commitment at the South-South Cooperation summit in Buenos Aires

  

  The member states of the South-South Cooperation Plan will meet in Buenos Aires from March 20 to 23 to launch a new strategy with a view to implementing the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 within the framework of the Second High-Level Conference of United Nations on South-South Cooperation, PABA +40. The event will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the approval of the Buenos Aires Action Plan and awaits a “renewed political commitment” from participating States.

  Argentina signs with Belize a South/South cooperation agreement in several fields

  

  As part of Argentina's foreign policy to increase links and cooperation with the Caribbean, Foreign minister Hector Timerman and his peer from Belize, Wilfred Elrington signed a South to South cooperation agreement which covers several fields and opens trade opportunities.

  The 34-country Arab League/Unasur political and trade summit takes off in Peru

  

  President Cristina Fernández leaves Monday evening for Peru to participate in the 3rd Summit of South American-Arab Countries (ASPA) leaders, scheduled to take place on October 1st and 2nd in the Ministry of Culture, in the Peruvian capital Lima.
