  Falklands’ ice hockey player displays her talent and skills at British Universities Women’s Cup winning team

  

  During a recent sports reception at Government House, Governor Alison Blake CMG underlined how the Falkland Islands despite their small population have such a thriving sporting community with over twenty different disciplines involving adults women and men, and girls and boys.

  Falkland Island’s participation in International hockey tournaments at Patagonia

  

  This year the Falkland Islands teams competed in two international ice hockey tournaments. Firstly two of our player/coaches took part in The Patagonian Brotherhood Cup held in Puerto Williams. They competed as part of the rest of the world team with players from other countries eventually taking 3rd place.

  On November 18 & 19, Costa Rica’s first ever international ice hockey tournament will take place in the hills of Heredia, where it is much cooler than in the Central Valley, at the Castillo Country Club, home of the Castillo Knights.

  Falklands ice hockey team in international tournament in Costa Rica

  

  Costa Rica will be hosting the first Castillo International Ice Hockey Tournament with the participation of a home team, and three international sides, including one form the Falkland Islands. The competition is scheduled to take place at the Castillo Country Club in San Rafael de Heredia, on 18/19 November.
