United States president-elect Joe Biden plans to nominate former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack for agriculture secretary, Axios reported on Tuesday. Vilsack, who led the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) under former President Barack Obama, could not immediately be reached. His spokeswoman, Regina Black, declined to comment as an official announcement hasn't been made.
Uruguayan president Jose Mujica flies on Saturday evening to the United States and on Monday at 10:45 will be walking into the White House for a sixty minutes meeting with President Barack Obama. Mujica will be spending five days in Washington where he has scheduled a long list of meetings and conferences.
