  Madrid unilaterally extends protection for (400.000) Britons living in Spain

  

  Spain's cabinet has approved measures for Britons in Spain to continue living there as now if the UK leaves the EU without a deal. Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said the main purpose was that no-one, British or Spanish, would be left unprotected. Spain estimates that the measures, which would become law under a no-deal Brexit, would grant residency rights to about 400,000 UK citizens.

  Mars rover work-out controlled in Chile from more 11.000km away in UK

  

  A space control center in the UK has been used to test-drive a prototype Mars rover thousands of miles away in Chile’s Atacama desert. Experts at the European Space Agency’s centre in Oxfordshire completed a series of tests across nearly 11,000 km in order to see how the Mars rover reacts to commands across large distances.

  Falklands' government announces visit of Argentine next of kin on 13 March

The release states that following the identification of a further 18 unknown Argentine soldiers, buried at the Argentine military Cemetery at Darwin, a private charter is due to arrive at Mount Pleasant Airport on Wednesday 13 March.

  UK should end its control of the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean “as rapidly as possible”, the UN's highest court has said. Mauritius claims it was forced to give up the islands - now a British overseas territory - in 1965 in exchange for independence, which it gained in 1968.
