  Humza Yousaf, identified as the “continuity candidate” has been elected to succeed Nicola Sturgeon as Scotland's National Party, SNP leader and Scotland's next first minister. He was widely seen as being the preferred candidate of the SNP establishment, including outgoing Ms Sturgeon herself.

  Charles III and Camilla visit Germany and will address the Bundestag

  

  King Charles will make his first foreign visit as monarch on Wednesday, when he and the Queen Consort, Camilla, travel to Germany for a three day visit.. Charles will be the first post-war foreign head of state to receive a ceremonial welcome with full military honors at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, and the first British monarch to address Germany’s federal parliament, the Bundestag.

  Royal visit to France postponed because of ongoing pension reform protests

  

  King Charles III's state visit to France has been postponed after a request by President Emmanuel Macron, Downing Street has said. The president said “we would not be sensible and would lack common sense” to go ahead after unions called a day of pension protests during the visit.

  Strike in UK: Important information for British passport holders

  

  The Customs & Immigration Service would like to inform the public that a strike is planned by staff of the UK Passport Office for five weeks between 3 April to 5 May in England, Scotland and Wales – in a dispute about jobs, pay and conditions. A quarter of the Passport Office’s 4000 employees are expected to take part in the strike.

  Britain's security compromised due to ammo shortage after aiding Ukraine

  

  The British House of Commons Defense Committee urged the Government to devise a plan to boost the UK arms industry after a shortage in ammunition was reported due to constant assistance to Ukraine since the Russian invasion a little over a year ago. The House of Commons defense committee also warned that the UK's ammunition stockpile had dropped to a point that it jeopardized the country's security.
