Governor Gustavo Melella of the Argentine Province of Tierra del Fuego which technically includes the the Falkland/Malvinas and other South Atlantic islands sent this week notes of protest regarding the “WTM Latin America” tourism fair in Sao Paulo where the British Overseas Territories have a desk. Melella sent letters to Brazil's Ambassador in Buenos Aires and the Argentine Embassy in Brasilia.
A new international campaign to promote Chile as a tourism destination was launched by the Under Secretariat for Tourism, the institution responsible for the promotion of Chile in overseas markets. The campaign was presented in parallel in Sao Paulo as part of the events at World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America.
Last Wednesday April 17 ‘Splendour of the Seas’ and its 1.940 passengers marked the end of the 2012/13 cruise season for Uruguay, which took off on 23 October and totalled 222 calls between the port of Montevideo and Punta del Este sea resort.
