  Uruguay advises against traveling to Venezuela

  

  Uruguay's Foreign Ministry issued a statement this week advising against traveling to Venezuela, where “arbitrary detentions and kidnappings” by authorities and paramilitary groups are known to have been occurring. There is even a Uruguayan national among those missing, Montevideo insisted.

  New rules for foreigners wishing to travel to post-Brexit UK

  

  Starting Jan. 8, travelers who do not need a visa to enter post-Brexit UK for leisure will still be required to get an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) from the Foreign Office's website. This new permit allows foreign visitors to stay up to six months in the country as nonresidents (not allowed to work or study) and costs 10 pounds sterling.

  Uruguay confident Argentine tourists will save the Summer season

  

  Uruguayan tourism analysts predict a 16% growth in spending from foreign travelers during the Summer.   At least 29 survivors reported in Brazilian-built airliner crash

  

  A Brazilian-built Embraer E-190 jet of Azerbaijan Airlines registration 4K-AZ65 carrying 67 people crashed near the Kazakhstani city of Aktau Wednesday, killing 38 people, while 29 others, including three children, were rushed to emergency services for treatment. The passengers included 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhstanis, and 3 Kyrgyzstan nationals.

  Electronic Travel Authorizations for entry to UK needed as of next 8th January
