No Juan, what's ridiculous is how you losers keep crying about the Falklands. You lost, you will never get them back!!! Hey, I heard you guys wanted to put Diego Maradona's face on your currency and I thought, did Argentina run out of dictators to put on their bills? Just asking...

    Luis,

There seems to be some inconsistency in the deletion of comments here. You and I have both been deleted.

You don't follow the part line obviously and nor do I.

Jorge, were trying to say: He who laughs last, laughs longest?

Who knows what might happen in 3 or 4 decades.

If Argentina were to take a conciliatory approach and woo the Kelpers - encouraging and paying for them to be educated in Argentina is one example - then things might change over time to such an extent that one might even contemplate the Kelpers asking to join Argentina. After all, it is the Kelpers self determination which trumps all else.

However, in the last 2 and a half decades Argentina's approach has not changed much and remains as aggressive and obstructive as ever, so in 4 or 5 or even 10 decades all I can only foresee is the Falklands remaining British and Argentina continuing unsuccessfully to press their rather weak territorial claim.

Argentina has burnt it's bridges with the people of the Falklands. They experienced Argentina's “hospitality” during the war (e.g. Patricio Dowling the infamous veteran of the Dirty War) and don't want to experience it again. Why would they want to be ruled by a country with a long, sad history of instability, coup d'etats and dictatorships?

Stuart. That is not an option. Those are our territorries. We are a democracy country, my province (tierra del fuego, antartica & south atlantic islands) are prosperous, too. Malvinas (or Falklands, the fantasy name) is a real dictartoship that dont develop (a brit enclave in C. XXI) or read it:

Stuart, stop dreaming, if islanders dont want to be ruled by Argentina they should go back to its natural nation the european united kingdom.
Democracy in malvinas its a lie, there is no such thing in the islands. Only a colony in the 21 century where Decisions in malvinas are made in the north.
