Infortunately, many of them believe that a pacific attitude is a symbol of weakness and can´t appreciate it.

Argentina will spend less that 0,9% of its GDP in defence in 2010, according to the World Bank...
This is a fact, our strenght and our best weapon....
Against all “internal and external ”enemies.
Lets follow the example of Costa Rica....

Maybe you should play the game Civilization and see what happens when you don't have the military to protect your borders or strategic assets.

I don't see Chile slowing down military purchases. They could control the sky in day if Argentina got a little too aggressive with them.

I'm in agreement with fred. Whoever thinks a nation is safe when not investing in its military forces, doesn't understand the nature of the international system. This is specially true of Latin America - for there's a certain country to the north of the region that is known for its rogue-ish and war-mongering behavior.

Another random and useless link from Think.

History has proven that that you have to prepair for war if you want to live in peace. If south america is happy enough living like this then thats there problem, personally i like knowing that if war does kick off we have a force with the ability to do it's job.

National security is quickly becoming underated when the world shows no signs of becoming more peaceful

But elsewhere Forgetit says Brazil is planning to repudiate the NPT and produce nuclear weapons.

Of course, Mora sees no arms race. It's a co-operative effort, isn't it? Led by Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.

It's a useless post because it adds absolutely nothing to the conversation and is completely random as usual with most of your posts.

How any soldier(or ex) who was at one point in there life paid to kill people can claim to be a pacifist is beyond me.

It's beyond anyone, not just me.

Pacifism is the opposition to war or violence. Pacifists follow principles of nonviolence, believing that nonviolent action is morally superior and/or pragmatically most effective.

Someone who has been in the army and killed someone can not be a pacifist without being a hypocrite.

When did i mention the meaning of life? quote please?

He's not a pacifist, he went to war, and killed people. That is the complete polar opposite of pacifism.

A hero? yes. A pacifist? impossible.
