Kinda like a wild west shoot-out. I was wondering if the impending eviction of a large traveller community in Essex will deteriorate into similar violence.

Seems like the police must have shot the squatters needing to be legally evicted, and concurrently shot each other.
    Plausible?

There maybe valance when the travellers in Essex are moved on, but there will not be trigger happy police shooting the travellers, like there was here, how long will it be before we have some one saying that it was not the police that were shooting, but the violent mob that would not do as they were nicely asked to do, is this what CFK meant when she says we will look after the poor,

A short update about this episode for the uninformed turnips........................

It turns out that the shots that killed and injured many UNARMED policemen and UNARMED protesters came from the private guard corps that “protect” the property of one of Argentina’s richest families; the Blaquier’s.

The landsite in question is now being expropriated by the provincial government and given to the occupying families.

The untouchable oligarchs are not so untouchable anymore…..

Things have certainly changed in Argentina……..

Isn’t you Brutons always saying that you are well educated and well informed?
Isn’t you Brutons always saying that that is what makes you so sophisticated?

Obviously that’s not the case of “Templar Knight Britishbulldog”!

Those “rich” can end losing more than 15 has out of the 250,000 has they own in the Province.
They could very well end losing their liberty.
This family has a “killing” history of impunity since the seventies.....
    Now they kill again........
    They better watch it......

    No thanks Templar Knigkt.....

Recent history has shown us that for every time one Turnip “sorts” other Turnip out, we end with, at least, four more Turnips on our lap.

This time, we Argentineans are sorting them out the right way.........

“Navy aircraft carrier will be sold after three years - and never carry jets”

Brits, the Turkish metal scrap yard are extremely busy already.

    @22Briton,
Wouldn't have made more sense to have two carriers at half the size or even three at one third the size?
For all its impressiveness & technology it still cannot be in two places at once.

Not really Isolde if you have smaller carriers then you have less aircraft and so if some really big trouble flares up lets say hypothetically in the Falklands and Middle East or East Asia, then instead of sending 3 carriers with 36 aircraft to one location you send one with 40, and another one with 40 to the location, and on top of that these new toys can carry a fully airmobile battalion of marines if the needs arise + supporting elements.....

I agree with Isolde, big carriers are big targets. Putting all our eggs in one basket so to speak - not sensible. Still if push comes to shove we can always fall back on other assets to deliver a punishing blow to an aggressor.

you may be correct, at this stage
    but times move on,
the catapult tested one of the JSF to be used,
if and only if the carriers servive this goverment,
we may yet get both carriers,
i think the navy was being very clever in this,
plas the type 26 combate ships,
if we are to defend anything in the future, we must retain these ships
if we dont , then its bad new for these we protect,
you cant defend your mates with promises can you,
    just a thought .
