After the election it looks like the stamina of protesting is coming to an end. I am sure the Argentine ambassador with have a nice time in London. There are plenty of Argentines in London and some nice Argentine restaurants.

I think we all know two guys who would really not be welcome in London because they seem unable to speak the language of diplomacy.

    . . . . . . . . . .,
    . . . . . . . . . . .

    Fill in the dots.

I'm truly am not sure why Argentina needs an ambassador at all; unless it's just government trappings; like decorating your house.

I suppose it would help the UKs balance of payments by turning Argentine moaning into a British export income.

After all the ambassador will have Argentine cash to spend for the duration. Can't think of any other reason to let him in.

It will be a quiet posting. Not much to do in an official capacity and not many invites.

Not sure about the now departed Nestor but old Cristina is definitely of Spanish heritage. She couldn't look more hispanic if she tried.
Anyway Germans are usually associated with cool pragmatic efficiency not the excitable emotional tosh preached by the botox queen.

Don't see the point of an Argentine Ambassador in London ....actually come to think of it don't see the point of a British Ambassador in BA.

The capacity of these English turnips to embarrass themselves showing their abyssal ignorance to all of us, never ceases to amaze me…….

Look at the “expert opinion” of poster “Englander” at (7):
“Not sure about the now departed Nestor but old Cristina is definitely of Spanish heritage. She couldn't look more hispanic if she tried.”

    And the truth is.................................:
”Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner was born in Ringuelet, a suburb west of La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, daughter of Eduardo Fernández (of Spanish heritage) and Ofelia Esther Wilhelm (of German heritage).

2 J.A. Roberts, Again, what difference does is it make? We are all Argentineans.
Does the British Royal Family have German ancestry by any chance?

@8 Unfortunately for Twinky, CFK has boasted that she is 3rd generation Spanish. I assume that's 3rd generation bastard Spanish. Owing to her forbears willingness to bend over and spread their legs for anyone.

@9 British are British. And about 5,000 time better than the bastard Spanish dropping their crap in South America.

So, CFK has Spanish ancestors! Wow!
    And German ancestors! Wow!
And she looks more Spanish than German! Wow!
And having bi-polar disorder is 'more like a Spaniard than a German'.

Come on, kids, I know it's a 'no news day', but really!

The capacity of these argentine plonkers to embarrass themselves showing their abyssal ignorance to all of us never ceases to amaze me…….
Interestingly, why has President Cristina Fernandez changed her mind and decided to post one to London, would this be seen as a sign of surrender by argentine complain test, to complain ?
Concurring the reason why she did not fill the post, it just seems rather like a,
    [I give up syndrome??
    Just a thought.

Does the British Royal Family have German ancestry by any chance
[Does the argentine government have Spanish or European ancestry by any chance]]
    What a silly question,
But only to be expected I suppose .
    They do try ?.

@18 The quality has already been sorted from the dross. For example, Britain is quality and South America, except for an area in the south west, is dross. Job done!

as an Argentine I find it absurd to have any dealings with pirats, even an ambasador in a country that has such a bad war record is a waste of money, money that could be used to buy computers for elementary schools.

An ambassador who is ethical, politic and above reproach is a useful adjunct when it comes to 'stressed events'.
But an ambassador must transmit not only fact but nuance - the latter is arguably more important. Unbreakably encrypted communication is important.
I imagine, with Argentina and the UK, a simple secure 'Skype-type video-conferencing' link is sufficient, without need for an expensive ambassador.

Was a similar use of technology used in the Cuban missile crsis and wasn't there a phone link between Yankeeland and soviet union for nuclear safety.I guess you are thinking such type of dialogue exists between Argentina and the UK.I myself there is a risk of conflict in this situation even if Iraq eygpt and Libya will now be sources of income and not current costs

    Yul,
yes, you are right; risks exist.
Wikileaks showed us the tremendously skilled comment that was being fed back to the USA by the US diplomats around the world. Their interpretations were so impressive that one wonders how - with all the nuance and background being fed into the the US 'information-pool' - US policy could become so 'off-beam'.
It's my belief that 'US Interests' (= US-dominated multinational corporations) dominated policy considerations so much during the Bush era, that the politically-couched messages from the professional diplomats were 'drowned out.'
This is a certain truth for South America, and a different kind of certain truth for the Middle East.

I insist that an office in london will only serve UK to listen into highly classified information and to plant terrorists and criminals in Argentina as they done everywhere else in the world, for the ammount of listening UK does to UN and other organizations, I doubt that having someone there will make any difference, I think anyone going to that office should protest and go back home or shoot himself in the head for trading with the enemy, maybe even an army veteran from Malvinas should put him to rest. being a trador calls for capital punishment in many nations, like USA for example. it's the American way and we are talking about South America not Irland.

I think Pirat-Hunter has a great plan there, all 40 Million RGs could one-by-one be appointed as Ambassador to the UK, and each one could shoot themselves in the head; starting with Pirat-Hunter...

No more whining, moaning, and acting like a big girl's blouse from South America, they would each get a Darwin Award, sounds like a plan alright.

the change in foreign policy of cfk is because the country needs credit and cash, therefore they are again under the umbrela of the USA and try to be friends withe the USA allies (GB).
It has always been the same story in Argentine history.
