May 15th, 2012 - 12:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0UK got not a peep on the issue of the Falklands Flag.
Italy/Germany got not a peep on the pensionists in those countries holding defaulted bonds.
Spain gets not a peep over the trade issues.
I say this not to gloat, I don't like any of this, but this is exactly what Europeans and UK posters here would say and HAVE said if Argentina does not get unanimous support from other countries in the region. They will say South America is not united, Oh where are Argentina's friends, Latin America is no EU... etc.
Well, it seems the EU is no EU.
Argentina got know where with their sovereignty claim to the EU, yet the EU supported the UK, its just we haven't pushed the issue further, as we have no need to do so Tobias. After all, as far as we the UK are concerned their is no sovereignty dispute as we hold sovereignty whether argentina likes it or not!
May 15th, 2012 - 12:22 am - Link - Report abuse 0South america is not united, look at all the back stabbing talk and moaning by argentinas neighbours about argentina, all they do is pay lip service to argentina to keep argentina happy. Thats all, nothing more. If it ever comes down to open conflict it will just be argentina on its own, and once chavez is gone their is no way venezuela will help you, as they will be to busy sorting out their own political upheavals once Chavez is gone. And don't expect any help from any other south american nations or china, as they have their own needs to look out for and supporting argentina in any military conflict, should it ever happen, would not be in their own interests.
The issue here is not Argentina or South America, the issue is the UK wanted a formal declaration on the flag issue, EU said it was a ”bilateral' issue.
May 15th, 2012 - 12:25 am - Link - Report abuse 0Spain wanted a import ban, gets nothing.
Germany and Italy pensioners still waiting on the EU to force Argie to settle the outstanding bonds.
Face it teaboy, there is no unity at all in Europe in any of this, its every man for himself right now.
Toby, You are assuming all of the litigation and retribution is over. You are very mistaken, the wheels of justice may turn slowly but eventually ARG will have to settle with the bond holdouts, ICSID, etc etc. ARG will be made an example of what happens when you don't play by the rules.
May 15th, 2012 - 12:47 am - Link - Report abuse 0BTW your awarded judgments and pending litigation are in the 100s of BILLIONS U$ so you are effectively bankrupt now.
It is just a matter of time, your economy is in a tailspin and there is nothing that can stop it from certain crash.

May 15th, 2012 - 12:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0LOL
Really Tobias, and where did they say it was a biateral issue over the falklands flag ban in argentina and other south american ports? Errr they didn't, they said the sovereingty dispute was a bilateral issue when argentina tried to bring the dispute to the EU to attempt to put more pressure on the UK. Argentina failed as the EU wanted nothing to do with the sovereingty dispute, just so it would entartain argentina nor did they refer to the flag issue in their response either - Heres the article http://en.mercopress.com/2012/01/20/falklands-malvinas-bilateral-issue-but-islands-are-covered-by-eu-as-british-ot - Where do they the EU mention in their statement about the Flag Issue? They don't!
May 15th, 2012 - 01:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0Not only that the EU is not a platform for resolving sovereingty issues, it never has been. But that aside it still recongnizes the falkland islands as a legitamate british overseas territory and all EU nations are treaty bound to protect the islands if called upon by the UK or the falkands islanders themselves!
EU looking at placing sanctions on Argentina - Argentina is going to go bankrupt Tobias, am sure even you considering your one of the more intelligent argentinians on here can see just how severe things will get for argentina and its people should the EU be successful. Oh and you only have CFK and her groonies to blame too.

May 15th, 2012 - 07:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0This is great news you can pay back all your bonds and defaulted loans.
And maybe the ban on taking currency out of the country and raiding the central bank reserves.
If only they had known this impending economic miricle was going to happen.
Well done RG's, now you can stop moaning and whinging and start paying your debts.
What a stupid article, EU/WTO will have sanctions enforce shortly Arg won't be selling anything to UK USA EU. But you know they have a new trade agreement with Angola..that should help a lot! hahahaha
May 15th, 2012 - 11:14 am - Link - Report abuse 09 - scoff not just watch this economy fly... they have the support of the world, everybody is their freind...everything is great, very low inflation, no state control of the media, no corruption by the vice president, they are not a no-go area for international investment...its all good thanks. May 15th, 2012 - 06:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The EU is united,
They are united against each other,
Most dislike each other,
most will try to out do each other, and will do what ever it takes to help there own,
But what you and other Argies fail to understand, it is in fact in house fighting,
When and where required, the EU will stand and blockade to gether, even if they don’t like it,
Confusing you might think,
,,,,,
Only to the non, understandable lol.
But you have a point in as such; the EU should have CFK over a barrel,
But by the time they realise it, the barrel would either have leaked or rolled away .lol.

Dany, the pro brits in this SEWER-Forum are so risible, that they have no dimension of the Argentine potential and capabilities.
They think Mercosur, and Europe is going to give a dam about Malvinas and ..3000 people...

14 - And all profits will go to your corrupt government. Argentina has huge shale gas reserves but your own lazy government cantafford to develop the supply. And nationalising the spanish oil firm has scared off all international investment you need to do this. I am sure the Chinese will be interested in buying your country.

May 16th, 2012 - 05:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The welfare state in UK pays for a lot of people to leech off the state, but unlike RG land you don't have to vote for the government in return.
Reichmistress buys votes for food and cash, UK just hands out cash to lazy people, so UK wins again!!! wooooooohoooooooooooo we are morally better than RG land. Give but dont expect anything in return.
Heil the Kircher youth and her army of paid thugs, vote riggers, and rent a mob,.
