One in eight people worldwide suffer from chronic hunger and of those, 5 in 10 live in a former British colony ;)
The hungriest nations are the command economies (price control): •North Korea: Mental retardation caused by severe malnutrition causes the NK army to reject 1 out of 4 recruits. Even with massive U.S. food aid. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/05/AR2009030503613.html •Venezuela: I have never seen such shortages in all my life, Hernandez [ abuela] says. Who would have ever thought that Venezuelans would have no milk, no corn meal, no coffee? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/05/AR2009030503613.html •Zimbabwe Once South Africa's breadbasket!! JUST A DECADE AGO!, until the 'fast-track' expropriation. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/05/AR2009030503613.html •Argentina began a command economy as of last week.
Time for Rich countries like the UK to quaddruple their food donations. You either talk the talk or walk the walk.
@ProRG I am trying to get an estimate on how much food Argentina/ UNASUR donates? Any leads? :) Thx
