Nov 28th, 2012 - 04:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's just a bad joke. How legitimate was it to incorporate Venezuela into the bloc within weeks of this suspension. South Americans treat the rest of the world as if they are stupid.
It will be fun to see if Argentina is suspended should its people ever pluck up the courage to kick her out.
What makes mercosur a joke is being able to bring someone in when a founding member is suspended. Mercosur and Unasur a feel good clubs for south america that is meaningless to the world. SA needs to wake up and realize there is only one world

- That would depend on if the next Argie leader fits with Brazil’s long term plans for the future of the continent.
Mercosur: 4 or 5 small countries all wanting in on the 200 million people market next door. There is no mistaking who is calling the shots.
At what point in time did it become appropriate for a trade organisation to interfere in the internal affairs of a member state? Can Brazil feel no shame? Still, an excellent reason to continue to oppose any agreements between the EU and this illegitimate organisation (mercosur). As for unasur, a perfect demonstration of its lack of credibility. Worth noting that this was supposed to continue the ideals of Simon Bolivar. Bolívar never accomplished his objectives and at the time of his death had become an unpopular figure due to authoritarian attempts at the establishment of strong, centralized governments in the countries he had led to independence. Nothing changes.

Brazil is the regional puppeteer, without any doubts.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Whats the matter, you don't know what to say.
Liberty is what abounds in South America today my friend. Freedom of the press is about to make a big score on December 7th.
One wonders who actually controls or runs foreign affairs . This unpleasant character or the Foreign Minister ? Anyway the President will not attend the meeting so who cares what he opines !
Nov 28th, 2012 - 09:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0well take a look at the presidents of unasur and mercosur at one point they were all terrorist and they still use the same tactics today the Bolivarian presidents have no regard for the rule of law.

Nov 29th, 2012 - 12:07 am - Link - Report abuse 0Either you have adopted a bizarre definition of liberty or you are a useful idiot. Liberty has always been scarce and fragile in South America, whose history features nobody even remotely comparable to the founding fathers. Besides, the little amount of it that one day by pure accident appeared in Argentina is quickly disappearing.
Brazil is very right here, no concessions to coups...
Nov 29th, 2012 - 12:42 am - Link - Report abuse 0And Paraguay is expecting over 9% growth for 2013...that should be one of the largest growth rates in the world. Seems like Paraguay will be just fine with or without the acceptance of these other countries. Already Paraguay exports more beef than Argentina and pretty much every industry is kicking ass. Even cars will be manufactured here, which is kinda funny but still awesome.
