Go for it, Paraguay. Tell the dictators where to go. You are right and they are crooks. Well, not completely. Uruguay is weak and pointless. Brazil is desperate. Argieland is corrupt, criminal, degenerate, genocidal, imperialist, larcenous, mendacious, pernicious, rapacious, scrofulous, timorous, vicious, xenophobic and, basically, a shithole.

But please, tell us what you really feel about Argentinians as I get the impression you're overly adulating the populace.

Well, as much as I recognise that Paraguay has not trod an unsullied path through its history, it does seem to have natural justice on its side on this issue.

It has been badly bullied by the big beasts of Ar, Ve and Br for left wing ideological reasons
and because it did not want Chavez, an outright dictator, to dominate the club.
I concur with the opinion that a unanimous vote of Mercosur member states on the Venezuela incorporation question did NOT take place.

As inconvenient as it is for Mercosur countries ..
    and the derelict Mercosur itself,
Paraguay has presented itself as the wronged party
and this is widely accepted in world political circles.

For things to move forward with Mercosur the wrongs need to be righted
.. and done with apologies from the big beasts.

@2 Really want to know? I think there are two types. Those that I refer to as “Argentines” are properly educated, aware, sane, intelligent, responsible people. Unfortunately, they are a minority. The others are the ones I refer to as “argies”. Possibly the biggest grouping of belligerent, corrupt, cowardly, criminal, degenerate, genocidal, imperialist, larcenous, mendacious, pernicious, rapacious, scrofulous, timorous, vicious, xenophobic vermin on the face of this planet!
@4 Quite right. The “incorporation” of Venezuela was and is illegal. The FACTS are that argieland saw an opportunity to get its “pal” into the club. But, mercosur “rules” state that the four primary members must agree on certain issues. Although how anybody could consider “Pepe” to be a “primary” member is beyond me. Latterly, Brazil has descended to more hypocrisy. By warning Uruguay that its approaches to the Pacific Alliance must be agreed by the whole of mercosur. Did AR, BR and UR carry out an investigation or hearing before suspending Paraguay? They did not. And that shows the real situation. Argieland dictates, Brazil is persuaded and Uruguay does as its told. Meanwhile, Paraguay, with whom those three countries have “history” gets shafted. It has a lot to do with argie imperialism. If CFK had her way, the whole continent would follow her “diktats”. I'll bet she has visions of troops from the whole of South America stealing “Malvinas” for her. Why are times difficult for argieland? Times are always difficult if you have a manic kleptomaniac in charge.

    Conqueror,
Ok, I pretty much agree with everything you say, but I think your being too kind in describing the majority of Argentines...

    Geoff,
Right you are, but for the short term future, Paraguay will have to swallow its pride until they have transitioned to a new trading block structure. Argentines rarely apologise.

I still remember the photo of the two girls and the old commie dancing and holding hands as if they were on the village green.

    Bonkers or what?
