Jul 24th, 2013 - 08:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0LOL probably because it is actually growing and doesn't even have to lie about it.
The USA! No...not the evil economic colonialist, imperialist empire!!!
Jul 24th, 2013 - 09:19 am - Link - Report abuse 0So, Paraguay is the country in SA to grow the most AND they don't feel very close to the other Mercosur members.
Jul 24th, 2013 - 09:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0Then why on earth are they going to re-join Mercosur?
Tell me the story using a violine, I just might believe you ;)
Where in the article did anyone say they are actually rejoining Mercosur?
Jul 24th, 2013 - 09:44 am - Link - Report abuse 0Sorry I didn't using a violine to say that. Just my thumbs on my iPad.
Seem to have lost all my violines.

Jul 24th, 2013 - 09:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0The headline mentions something about it...
Use a guitar, for a blatant lie, instruments could be crucial to make the masses sleep.
Does not seem to me like Paraguay intend on returning as a full member of Murcosur, any time soon.
Jul 24th, 2013 - 12:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Life is too good outside it.
When and if they do it will be with conditions, that much is abundantly clear.
Another nail in the coffin of murcosur the trade organisation.
SO that assumes Mercosur is going to give Paraguay dignity, meaning......respect their laws and then Paraguay will return. No wonder Paraguay is making alternative plans.
Jul 24th, 2013 - 12:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@3 Still didn't say that they ARE going to rejoin. Although, technically, they don't have to. They were only illegimately suspended, not expelled.
Jul 24th, 2013 - 01:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@5 Then go and read it again! It says ready. Why is it that almost everything has to be explained to you? It's not really difficult. What you do is to READ the words and then COMPREHEND the sentence. It is for mercosur to find “a legal way to do so”, in a way that does “not violate any current legislation or the dignity of Paraguay”. And that's going to be difficult for a criminal gang. Here's some thoughts. Perhaps mercosur could expel Venezuela, give the presidency to Paraguay for a year and have the heads of state publicly go on their knees to Cartes, apologise, admit they were wrong and each hand over US$100 million as a gift/fine. No cheques, no credit cards, no pesos, no fiat money. Good, honest, legal, non-counterfeit US dollars. Just to try to make up for anything Paraguay may have lost. Oh, and argieland gets to site its nuclear power station in the middle of Buenos Aires!
Why rejoin Mercosur only to be stabbed in the back again?
Jul 24th, 2013 - 01:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Paraguay is far better off joining the Pacific Alliance.....the only true free trade block in S. America!!!
This are interesting news, Paraguay is almost done FTA with Mexico which is what was left needed to join Pacific Alliance, Mercosur will keep being important for Paraguay given it´s geographic location and it´s agreetments with other countries will help them diversify economically and connect better with the rest of the world. From what I could get from other sources around Mercosur countries, their enterperneurs expect a middle term relationship or maybe even a treaty between Pacific Alliance and Mercosur given comerce between members has become interlinked with past agreetments.
Jul 25th, 2013 - 03:11 am - Link - Report abuse 0Some sort of relationship between the Pacific alliance and murcosur is going to be necessary of course, however given the fundamentally different political outlooks of the two groups, the question is how close, or fractious, that relationship will be.
Jul 25th, 2013 - 01:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Remembering some agreements don’t really mean much in S. America.

Jul 25th, 2013 - 09:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I hope Paraguay gets most out of the situation, if joining the Alianza is an option, I think it's great. That would move the Alianza and Mercosur closer as well, for obvious reasons.
Pugol-H- Indeed the tone of the relationship will be in hands of who is in charge of each country atm, I think there´s a search for an integrational model that fits different political aproaches indiferently of the political proclivities of each president. In fact ambassadors of Pacific Alliance have talked of it as a complementation economic proyect, they are aware not everybody will be up for it, but they see it as neccesary for their countries and the whole of Latam to get a presence in other parts of the world in that way, with even mixed embassies and proyects of infraestructure.
Jul 25th, 2013 - 10:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Stevie: Indeed, it isn´t really so hard to see now or in the future, because between CAN and ALADI there was already trade between Mercosur and Pacific Alliance countries. Greetings :-)
