Mercosur will be holding a special meeting of foreign ministers next 15 November in Caracas to consolidate Mercosur presentation before the European Union, according to a release from the Argentine Foreign ministry. Read full article
” Venezuelan foreign minister Elias Jaua said that the other regional spaces considered in the event of a complementation were the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA), energy cooperation platform Petrocaribe and the Caribbean Community (Caricom).
So sayeth the newest member of Mercosul.
ALBA, Petrocaribe, and Caricom have nothing to do with a trade agreement between Mercosul and the EU. This is not the UN General Assembly meeting where everyone like a Dos Passos trilogy gets to speak for 4 hours on any subject that comes to mind.
Stay focused Mersosul members, and it will happen. Brasil needs to gently keep this conference in line and on target. Allowing a huge platform of wandering subjects and social concerns, by each and every member FM bleating on and on for attention, and it will be a repeat of 1999 again.
Now is the time. To quote the LATIN poet Flaccus, Carpe Diem. ”
Mercosur is going nowhere without Paraguay's say so. All of a sudden Paraguay has become quite powerful. Venezuela's illegal entry into Mercosur will be eventually annulled.
All of the WTO complaints against Argentina will nullify whatever goodwill negotiation MS will have with the EU.
Who could take them seriously?
Brazil will have to pull out of MS and negotiate on their own.
But will a Marxist Terrorist give up her ideals to save her country?
We'll have to wait and see.
Fine by us, you lot need it the most... The Money is in China, and believe me when I say they are investing more in Africa and South America than in Europe...
All backed by greedy western Companies... oh the irony...

That is to supply materials to make the vast amounts of products that the West buy from China.
Without the western markets the Chinese would not need supplies from Africa or South America and that is where the Chinese money is coming from-the West, and a lot of it from Europe.
Exactly my point Pete, hence the greedy.
And you think we are your enemies.
Don't say no, if you guys spent half the time fighting the real enemy as you spend on Argentina, everybody would be happier...

Nov 01st, 2013 - 05:09 am - Link - Report abuse 0It's about time Brazil flexed it's muscles and basically tells Argentina to get it's act together or that Brazil will go it alone.
Nov 01st, 2013 - 06:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0And if Brazil goes it alone, so will Uruguay and Paraguay. Then Argentina and Venezuela can wallow in their own corrupt self-inflicted misery.
Brazil. You should be the leading voice in South America, especially in Mercosur. The sooner you realise this the better.

Let's just go down the line that the EU will not countenance any agreement until mercosur becomes legitimate.
