The Falkland Islands Tourist board and a team of delegates are participating of the World Travel Mart in London which is considered the largest travel and tourism show in the world.
The Falklands delegation is headed by Tony Mason, Managing Director of the Islands Tourist board. This is the second time the board attends the global meeting which will see this week more than 8.000 people, all linked to the travel and tourism trade.
The event has launched the Falkland Islands into a world-wide audience and it's the right step forward for the growth of the tourism sector in the Falkland Islands and for the delivery of the Tourism Development Strategy in the coming years, said Tony Mason.
He added that this type of participation on a world-wide playing field is required if we wish to grow to a level of tourism which would support new air-links to the Islands and encourage investment by hotel chains currently looking at the Falkland Islands.
