Gibraltarian and Spanish unions and business organizations on Tuesday called on their respective governments to act and implement measures that will guarantee the free flow of persons across the border. In a memorandum that will be sent to the European Commission and the European Parliament, the cross-border group expressed its “absolute aversion” to the current situation at the frontier, reports the Gibraltar Chronicle. Jan 09th, 2014 - 02:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0Finally I have found a result for all of Spain's actions.
La Linea and Catalonia should vote to leave Spain.
Jan 09th, 2014 - 03:02 am - Link - Report abuse 0seems ok to me,
Jan 09th, 2014 - 11:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0no doubt the Spanish dictatorship may well use it as an excuse
to create more mayhem..
You would think that the Spanish government has enough trouble with it's citizens, without creating more. Clearly the people of La Linea are starting to struggle financially.
Jan 09th, 2014 - 12:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In recent news, it seems that spanish government actions have seen a massive reduction in spanish fishing activities. After many statements lambasting the actions of the Gibraltar government for enforcing Gibraltar laws in Gibraltar waters and the effects on 67/68 fishing boats and the dependent families. But, for some reason, the spanish government will only provide aid in respect of 33 boats. Obviously, the other 34/35 boats aren't deserving. Or perhaps they don't exist. But that would mean that the spanish government has been lying. Surely not!

another 3rd class british colony like malvinas.
Yeah yeah whatever. Spain closed the border once before. For SIXTEEN years!
Jan 10th, 2014 - 06:13 am - Link - Report abuse 0And what happened?
It opened it again eventually. And Gibraltar was STILL British.
The Falklands live quite happily without any trade with Argentina.
They may be 3rd class British colonies but what is funnier is that even 3rd class British colonies have higher living standards than Spain and Argentina.
You just called both Spain and Argentina 4th class countries.
And supposedly I'm the moron.

They survived when Spain closed the border for 16 years.
If Spain closes the border AGAIN, Gibraltar will trade with Morrocco and many thousands of Spanish people will lose their jobs.
But Gibraltar will survive, with or without Spain.
another 3rd class british colony like malvinas.
Gibraltar has better living standards than Argentina-best idea for your people-let the FIG or Gibraltar run Argentina-and see your economy being run properly.
Time for the people of linea to move the border to secure a prosperous future for their children. Freedom from interference from the fascist aspirations of the current Spanish government would be the preferred option for the people of La Linea.
