    HMS Richmond in Cartagena,

Bloody hell, CFK will be spilling blood over this insult by the Colombians,

All for one, and one for all,
    She will be screaming,
The pirates are invading middle America…lol

Yes I think words will be said, this clearly goes against everything that Kirchner has told the rest if South America about what they can and cant't do.

Oh no! not another bloody Type 23 Frigate, where do those blasted Brits get them from? Not by having a strong economy and paying their taxes, shurely?

Quote #1 ”As a result of lessons learned from the Falklands War, the design grew in size and complexity to encompass the Vertical Launch Sea Wolf (VLS) system with an extra tracking system as a defence against low-flying aircraft and sea-skimming anti-ship missiles such as Exocet. ” (wikipedia).
Anyone else learnt any lessons Crass-tina?
#2 HMS Richmond’s Commanding Officer, Commander Robert Pedre, said: “Capable of conducting counter narcotics, anti-piracy patrols, providing reassurance to British Overseas Territories, or hosting a major bilateral Ministerial Conference and Defense Industry Day, this visit further illustrates the sheer versatility of a Royal Navy warship across the entire spectrum of soft and hard power.”
Now there is a lesson for ol' Turkey-Neck...

It will be interesting to see if the Colombians pay lip-service to KFC's 'claims' after CELAC or if they keep schtum... as it seems Colombia is emerging from a dark and difficult period and seems to genuinely want to join the 1st World. I wish them luck. Vnzla will need a strong and stable neighbour in the coming years...
Also I was in Bogota's 'El Dorado' airport twice in the past 3 months, looks fantastic, excellent modern facilities that put many other places to shame!

Ah my old ship! Good to see she's still out there doing the good work!

What a fine ship she is and she was undefeated by any other foreign navy in exercises whilst I served on the ship.

Some days I miss sun downers on the flight deck.

HMS Richmond. 4,900 tonnes. “A Deo et Rege”. “From God and the King”. Richmond, together with RFA Wave Ruler, assisted Grenada and then steamed at top speed for Jamaica after Hurricane Ivan struck. An excellent ship with an excellent crew. Where were other countries? A pride for the Royal Navy and Britain. God speed you, Richmond and keep you safe.

Hopefully she will stay in El Caribe for a while, nice weather for the crew, comfort to our friends and a nice reminder to those that are not!

    Hurrah for Richmond!
