President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro has warned that if US-owned television station CNN do not change their coverage of protests they will be forced out of the country. “CNN has the objective of forcing a civil war in order to provoke the 'gringo' [US] army against our fatherland. Alert the entire country, alert,” the head of state warned, in a live television appearance this evening. Read full article

A couple of weeks ago CFK told Argies to watch TeleSur if they wanted the real news. Ya...the real propaganda station. She should be careful what she says...people are not so stupid as she thinks they are.

CNN won't show the oppositions “violent” gangs because his violent gangs stole their equipment. Whatever. Funny how the story doesn't mention that.

“Maduro” in portuguese means 'ripe'.....so I reckon it's just a matter of time before the rotten idiot drops to the ground, where hopefully, he'll be trampled on and kicked into the dirt..

As I recall, dictatorships and tyrannies tend to make it impossible for the “free press” to report what actually goes on. They have such things as “party” newspapers, “party” radio stations, “party” TV channels. In free, democratic countries, such things don't exist. For instance, in the UK, newspapers take different lines depending on their political views. But they don't get banned, thrown out of the country or told to change their ways. Politicians tend to stand up and explain themselves. Or they write an article.

We need to watch MADuro carefully. (That's psychotic and incontinent). Why doesn't he appear in combat armour and a helmet? Right-wing “threat” can't be that great. What sort of third-world right-wing conspirator would use a rifle when they could use an RPG or an IED? Or perhaps an RPG AND an IED? Oops, I do hope I haven't given anyone IDEAS!

    Yup, saw that one coming!

The 'armed gangs' are the Chavista thug 'motorizados' attcking the protestors.
I understand NTN24 is still of the air Venezuela but still, of course, broadcasting in Columbia. Mas-Burro is an idiot. My family in Merida still watch CNN(EE) & NTN24 on the web.

great to see anti-regime protests as far afield as Boston, Bogota, New York, Miami etc.
There is a call for protests in support in every capital in the World on Sat 22 Feb at 12 noon (local time in those cities!),

I wonder who will be left to expel from VZLA after NTN24 and CNNE… Everyone has gone expect the Cubans.

I don’t think he actually believes in any of this, but Maduro pays back to its ignorant constituency that voted for him with the same and gives him excuses to cover the complete failure of the government

    Quote
“Well, this is awkward. The adult children of Venezuela’s late President Hugo Chavez refuse to leave the presidential residence, La Casona. In fact, Maria Gabriela, Rosa Virginia and Hugo Jr. are still using the lavish villa as a ”social club for friends of the family“ nearly one year after their father's passing. Turn up!
The only problem is there’s another Venezuelan president these days, Nicolas Maduro, and he's already been in place for about one year — so La Casona is actually his now. The Chavez brood have long overstayed their welcome, writes Vocativ, but they won’t leave. Caterers refuse to work with them because they reportedly don’t pay their bills, neighbors complain about their loud parties and event organizers claim they shake them down for party tickets.
Filled with priceless art and the trappings of the wealthy, La Casona actually never saw a lot of Hugo Chavez; he lived primarily at the Fuerte Tiuna military base. His children, however, were all about the palatial villa.”
    endquote.
Mas -Burro is to scared to evict them! The President can't even live in the official residence!!

A Venezuelan friend of mine who studies in Australia has been in tears for the past several days.

Her mother back in Venezuela tells her that the only way she can get news is that which is she hears from her daughter over the phone from Australia.

All the TV is showing in Venezuela are things like cartoons and making out there is no real issue.

It is amazing how disposable the people become when THE revolution is challenged by an ACTUAL revolution.

It is being reported here that 7 CNN employees left Venezuela, having had their news permits revoked by Maduro.

He probably offered them a Disinformation permit, based on the Cuban model, but I doubt they would accept it.

The funny thing with these despots is that when they crosses bridges, they often forget the old saying.....never burn them.

In the story a man is claiming to have been “raped” with a gun after being arrested. That will really quell the violence.

Spreading the blame as he does, Maduro also blames Mr. Uribe of Colombia for problems in Venezuela. “ It's all a plot. ”

Further, he blames Mr. Kerry, of the USA for “ giving a green light to the protestors. ” How ?

Mr. Kerry's comments “ The government's use of force and judicial intimidation against citizens and political figures, who are exercising a legitimate right to protest, is unacceptable and will only increase the likelihood of violence,” Kerry said. ”

Mr. Kerry's omments we are all in agreement with here in Brasil too.

Who is next on the blame list ?

Another quote, if you will, from the Guardian in the UK.

“ Maduro reiterated that the events of the last two weeks are a coup-in-the-making backed by the US and financed by Colombia's ex-president Álvaro Uribe, whom Maduro accuses López of working closely with.

The proof of his allegations, he says, ” will soon come to light “.

That last sentence translates as ” I'm so upset, I just can't think of another excuse to make. My 50,000 Cubans can't think that fast either !. ”

That statement could just as well come from that other toad, Mr. Yanukovych in the Ukraine ( wherever he went into hiding, as he has fled Kiyv ).
