Unasur will sent a few leftist politians there to say the dialogue is progressing.
Meanwhile anti govt protesters are getting shot for merely voicing their opinions.

This is what you get when the rule of law breaks down at government level.

@3 Or just run down the clock until Venezuela rights itself by either putting down the protests with their not-so-secret brownshirts and armed motorcycle thugs “peacefully” shooting the protesters that little fascist Stevie the (capital) Peoples Poet's desperately defends and envies OR until the economy *really* starts the downward Chavizmo-inspired spiral that would even give even Ayn Rand (pitiless old Let-Em-Crash herself) nightmares. Even if UNASUR's heart was in the right place and truly wanted to do something they are pretty much powerless to stop either track. Everyone knows that Maduro is an incompetent “under-elected” stem-n-fetchit for Raul, but no one wants to step in and interfere with the karma, taking liability for the Venezuelans from the mess they were duped into voting in and are now “Shocked!” that they can't vote out even when the opposition wins local elections by landslides and of course even wins national elections with the PSUV-run CNE covering for Maduro and his little birdie.

@6 Since even before Lenin and his omelets, it's always the little-P people that must be sacrificed to the big-P people.

On TeleSur today they say that 3 generals were arrested for planning a coup, PSUV offices were bombed, and CNE offices were torched. Maybe its finally the beginning of the end. Or is this some kind of misguided propaganda?

@8. Well CNE is lining things up to install a pair of PSUV mayors to replace the genuinely elected mayors **who got 2/3's and 3/4's of the vote** that the PSUV arrested for not supporting the fascists and rather recognizing the protesters human right to protest without being shot by motorcycle thugs loyal to someone who everyone knows lost his last election. And no doubt any campaigning for the opposition will be criminalized. The Maduro and the rest of the PSUV has no one left to lie to.

GFace seems very much on the ball here.
I monitor a very diverse range of media both internal and external. Equally I take into account the first hand info I have coming out of Venezueala from many cities.

IMO Unasur is a Chavez inspired 'talking-shop' wothout any real power nor influence outside the ALBA countries.
To be seen to ignore would weaken, nay, nulify, it's very existence.
To criticise would to demean it's very existence.

So they will “follow the political dialogue”.

A meaningless statement. I follow the 'political dialogue' and so does my goldfish.
I believe my goldfish is more likely to get involved...
At least she is not beholden to the petro-dollar subsidies...

    And the latest today:

    3 Generals.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-26739767

Soon, no one will be left but Mr. “ Fofinho ” Maduro, and his 50,000 Cubans advisers, who are doing such a great job in Venezuela. .

The Cubans will then abandon the sinking ship, saying “ No, not me, it wasn't me. It was someone else up on the building rooftop that just resembled me with a scoped rifle ”

    The BBC:

Anybody get the names of these guys, anybody see pictures?

It is just more conspiratorial coup rhetoric.

No names this morning. Only 3 Air force Generals, announced theatrically in front of the visiting Foreign Ministers' meeting with Mr. Fofinho.

'Patiño made the announcement last week during the ceremony in which the Unasur ''democratic clause' became effective, and “which is most important given the difficult situation faced by Venezuela”.'

Has anybody got an accurate copy of the 'democratic clause' ?

I seem to have missed it in the Mecopress daily postings -
it would be good to see what 'all Latin America' has signed up for,
as I think Maduro himself would be the most exposed to de-throning -
if the 'clause' demands REAL democracy.

Has anybody got an accurate copy of the 'democratic clause' ?

The Peruvians have arrived. Not with guns, but with Peruvian Congress members supporting Machado. While Peruvian President Humala is a closet Chavista, the Peruvian people are supporters of democracy in Venezuela. They do not want Chavism in Peru. And Peru Magic (fine TV station) has Machado's back.
Panama supports democracy in Venezuela and has shown this to the world. The US is planning sanctions. The US Vive President stuck it to Maduro when Biden was in Chile. Canada and many EU members are re-assesing their feelings regarding the Chavista Government.

It was correctly eplained to me, on this site, why Brazil wants to sit on the sidelines. But I still believe that if Venezuelans and Brazilians put the fear of protests, into Brazilian politician's minds, before the World Games begin, their attitude will have to change. And if Brazil does the right thing other SA Countries will follow suit. Otherwise Brazil's desire to become a world leader will take a dive alongside their failed World Cup.

There are so many plots against the Chavista Government: verified coup attempts, terrorism, store owners cheating customers with fair pricing, lightning strikes on petroleum plants caused by the opposition, Venezuelan infrastructure failing also because of opposition sabotage, Venezuelan's who eat too much, dead people who vote, the US planning another invasion every week, drug dealers who steal from army generals, and the press who favor only the opposition when they discover the truth. Why can't people just leave Chavism alone so that it can succeed in making Venezuela a democracy, where everyone is equal, a country where even Maduro uses only two sheets for a wipe?

    Ola Pisco !-

Mr. Maduro does not worry about two sheets.

He has his executive council to address such problems.
