The Central America Parliament (Paralacén) International Relations and Migratory Affairs committee unanimously approved on Thursday an initiative to promote in the region the 10th of June as the “Day of Central American solidarity with Argentine Malvinas Islands”.

The statement signed by five members from the Parlacén underlines solidarity with Argentina in its sovereignty claim over the Falklands/Malvinas Islands, air space and adjoining maritime areas.

“The Central American parliament reiterates solidarity and backing for the sister Argentine Republic and expresses support for declaring 10 June, every year, as the ”Day of Central America solidarity with Argentine Malvinas Islands”, reads the text from the International relations committee, which now has to take a vote at the full house.

The statement also calls on the UK government to comply with the Organization of American States, OAS, resolutions, approved during the fourth plenary session from June 2012, which calls for a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict.

The Parlacén is the regional political body of the Central American Integration System, SICA, established by the Protocol of Tegucigalpa to the Charter of the Organization of American States (ODECA) signed on 13 December 1991 and is seated in the City of Guatemala. Membership includes Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Panama.

I see, this Parlacen is a sort of 'Banana Republic' club? Well, I shall look for these country's names on bananas and avoid buying any from them in future. The Falkland Islands were very peaceful until the Argienazis decided to send 10000 armed troups to conquer them. Fortunately they suffered a humiliating defeat. The Falkland Islands are peaceful, when Argentina stops its bullying and harresment perhaps they might get an invitation for scones and a nice cup of tea.
