So the flights have stopped because of the World Cup and “some European airlines have reprogrammed their flights“ and “they’re diverting flights to Brazil.”

But then he states that ”those that leave the country, won’t be allowed to come back“.

So which is it? Have they just ”reprogrammed their flight” or have they left the country?

Because it will be hard to explain when their flights don't return to normal after the World Cup....... or is that when they will be banned from returning?

I wonder how long it took the bus driver to think up that excuse to explain away the airlines deserting Venezuela?

It just might be that there are other reasons closer to home.

If there is little or no trade going on in and from Venezuela, why on earth would airlines continue flying empty aeroplanes?

“”Maduro said that “bourgeois” news media opposed to his government are spreading lies about airlines’ reasons for suspending flights”. .....don't see why the airlines need to lie. Isn't the fact that they can't exchange their 4 billion dollars at the official exchange rate (artificially low) good enough reason to get the hell out ?? Foreign airlines should stop calling VZ altogether, just to show the busdriver who dictates the rules.

One recalls that the Cuban Government, specifically Mr. Raul Castro, stated that they were very pleased with the prospect of Mr. Maduro being the ideal replacement for Mr. Chavez as Venezuelan President.

And what a fine job he has done.

Mr. Maduro has become the laughing stock of South America. No imagination or leadership whatsoever. The riots continue, cannot hold Mercosur conferences, vital shortages continue, and Mr. Maduro cannot pay any of his ever increasing debts.

He must have seen a re-run of “ Blame it on Rio ”

Compañeros, instead of picking a quarter horse to run with, you ended up with a running lackey, only a burro, and a dumb one at that.

@14 Raul Castro said that a the dumb bus driver is easily to manipulate.

The airlines must band together and all pull out at once pretty much leaving the place to be another North Korea.
The airlines can then negotiate with the next government on their terms.

The correct statement is that Maduro's Government, has not paid to several Airlines local and international airlines for their services to and from Venezuela, so it has nothing to do with the Brazil World Cup.
In addition, personal security is in high risk counting to that product prices are extremely high, because the country inflation is around 40% and on top of it, basic products , among others such as soup and detergents, toiled paper and newspapers are in scarcity, while most streets in Caracas are in march since students and people protest and its open public demonstrations are not welcome to tourist.

Maduro: “Scientific evidence of conspiracy to be shown soon”

[Yesterday] President Maduro again announced that he will soon reveal the evidence of a plan to use local military to “generate chaos in the country.”

“I will show a scientific investigation, (…) that shows how some politicians are constantly plotting a coup d’état [reincidentes en golpe de Estado], even some who are deputies of the National Assembly, and some business people linked to Miami too. [They] are plotting to try to buy members of the Armed Forces. (…) They are preparing to attack the institutions of the Fatherland in order to generate a general chaos in the country. (…) Justice will be made with this malevolent plan. Enough of imperialist coups! Enough!” Maduro declared.

@22, it's all for domestic consumption....but MADuro very likely will produce some cooked up evidence, just to “prove” what a good president he is and that he can't understand why he is being criticized...
