Germany is the largest trading partner of Brazil in the European Union.

But the sanctions imposed by Germany to Russia tarnished the image of Germany in Brasil.

What a shame. What percentage of the Brazilian population could afford a BMW?

Hey #1 Brasshole speak for yourself. The image of Germany is at an all time high after they pummelled Brazil in football, that's all that anyone remembers here.

Of the 200 million inhabitants in Brazil, there're is a significant demand for BMWs, and in Mercosur a whole lot more. Smart move by BMW.

IIRC Brasil has some of the most expensive new car prices in the world. The massive import taxes don't help the likes of BMW and that's partly why they are setting up this factory, but domestically produced cars are a lot more expensive than elsewhere as well.

Just think, if the Peronistas had ponied up some tax benefits and such, these cars would have been made in Argentina. Instead, the major production of autos and parts fled to Brazil back in the 90's..

I see the vandals prevalent in Brazil have been at work again.

Or is that a new body finish?

Rather have the new Mercedes 2014/15 C Class, starts at U$D 61,000 in auto.

    :o)

The market for a new BMW in Brazil (with a “Z”) will be limited to about 1% of the population, or about 2 million people. The locally made models will no doubt be cheaper that the imported BMW's but will still be expensive for the average worker. So, even when they eventually reach the target of 30,000 cars per year , don't think they'll have much trouble selling them.
Good news though, is that one might evetually be able to pick up a semi-new, second-hand model for a fair price.

@1 Brazzo, you really don't know when to shut your stupid mouth, do you ?
“tarnished image of Germany in Brazil, because of Russia ? really ?? If their image is tarnished, it's because they stuffed 7 goals up your sensitive ”derriére”....in July...remember ? still sore ?
