Bring back former Minister Antonio Palocci.

Yes, I know it won't happen, but looking ahead at the state and future of the economy here, we will need his very innovative thinking again.

Alexander Tombini is most effective if he remains right where he is with the Central Bank.

I don't know about you, but I get the distinct impression that DumbAss Dilma is still going to try and rule the roost; it’s in her nature by the look of it.

Perhaps I am wrong, I do hope so for the people who work for a living and didn’t vote PT. These clowns have proven to be wrong time after time and never seem to learn that doing the thing the same way NEVER results in a different outcome.

Plus, DumbAss needs to stop fucking with Mr. Market or he WILL give Brazil a bloody nose.

With all due respect, “bring back Palocci ???” first of all, he owes most of his success during Lula's first mandate (2003-2006) to the fact that when he took over, the country's finances were in good shape (FHC's legacy), and second, with a slate as dirty as his, how the hell could he be reconducted to such an important post ? Seems you may have forgotten about the corruption scandal he was involved in while Mayor of Ribeirão Preto (public garbage contracts), and when he broke the law to get back at the housekeeper Francenildo, who had testified against Palocci, confirming his extracurricular adventures, paid for by public funds ??

    Ola, ChrisR-
    Ola, Jack-

    ChrisR-
President Dilma was at Petrobras, then Chief of Staff for President Lula. Then, still not a member of the PT Party, she was promoted hand in hand as the “designated next ” President.

Is she beholden to none, and governing as her own person as President ?
The answer is NO. Why ?

She says she saw no corruption ongoing at Petrobras for 7 years, and then again nothing seen as Chief of Staff for Lula. They must have put blinders on her eyes, or managed her position for her so she was not aware of anything going on with Petrobras, or the PT.

“ I never saw anything ” coupled with “ It's all ll lies ” during the election both sound false when looking objectively at the PF evidence today.

Let us see where she is in a few months.

    Jack-

I hear what you are saying, but Palocci's ideas for Brasil were positive in the outcome, especially the lightening-fast payoff of the IMF. A masterstroke, considering we now loan money from Brasil to poorer countries, via the IMF that seemed to be the unwanted neighborhood dog forever biting us on the heel.

Jack, I haven't forgotten the subsequent scandal, which pales compared to the pigs at the trough today. I just believe that Palocci did some very good things for us, as allowed by Lula under his administration.

Lula had a world-wide positive acceptance of 85 % when he left office. Dilma may wear the Presidential pants and shoes, but by contrast barely won the election by only 3.3 Million votes. Hardly a mandate.

Palocci may have done one thing that was right....but his subsequent actions prove he cannot be considered seriously for the post...once a thief, always a thief. The only problem with Brazil 'lending' money to other, poorer countries, is when you get a populist idiot like Lula, who pardons these debts, just to look good in the eyes of the world, but at the expense of the Brazilian taxpayer.
I agree that the “pigs at the trough today”, very aptly put, make all previous scandals look small. Let's see what pops up in this week's news.......até lá.
