Chrtist, how many appeals is this? Just pay and move on, you only lose face or is that too hard to accept?

Golfie... We all know the ploy.... Defer and delay ... And hope it goes away...
It rings out a little no?
Anyway a famous (infamous!!) man once said that if you perpetuate the lie long enough eventually it will be considered a truth...
I believe it was the NAZI Goering .... Cretina and Knobby probably use that as their daily mantra....
They should be HDAQ' ..... Limpdick also!!

It's an iceberg and Singer is only the tip. If they pay the 1.7B it will embolden everyone else. They are very afraid that universal acceleration and repudiation by the bondholder class will put them out in the street.

Argentina will lose, they're just trying to make it until Jan and leave this huge mess with the next Prez.
There's some real nasty stuff coming down the pike for that poor guy.
It may turn into another 5 Prez in a week as they all become aware how dire the situation is.
They'll need an IMF bailout, except they're out of status and I don't see the USA intervening to help them this time.

YB ... Another blowout... I remember the last one... Happened while I was in Europe ... I was making ready to return there... All of a sudden all doors were closed / locked and everyone had a chance to be president for a day... It was funny to see how many guys were so happy to assume the title until they had a chance to glom the books and then they bailed... You seem to have good foresight in this regard... History repeats itself?? Seems it's cyclical...!!

Why, I agree with chronic on this one!
The vultures' classical scheme to make huge profits speculating with countries' misfortunes has to end.
    Don't give up, Cristina.

    6. I am pretty sure that BCRA will be shown to be an alter ego of the Arg gov't and will have its “assets” ( if there are any left) seized.
This is still winding its way through the courts.

Arg will also be found in contempt by NY Appeals.
That will allow Griesa to be much tougher on Arg and anyone associated with the payment delays. It would also allow him to go to US State for personal sanctions like they just did in Venezuela.
I hope it happens before the nutbag is out of office.

@8 Yes... It would be appropriate.... Then if NY Appeals can confirm the holdings in the US that fatso and his mate chuping cronies have squirrelled away they might possibly seize those as well... So much for their retirement savings...

Once out of office and not protected by the peon'ísts ... The HoteSur swindle can be brought to the forefront...

Question is will it really make any difference in the government ... The next guy will probably be just as bad.... But then again that would be pretty extreme...

Argentina's history has shown them to be pretty abysmal when choosing a leader and they always prosecute the previous leaders and minions.
I don't see any reason to think anything will change now.

More than 500 creditors. So far. How far into the scale of argie theft are we? US$5.4 billion on top of NML's 1.33 billion. US$6.73 billion plus penalties, interest and so on.

Why do they bother appealing I.e. Engaging in the legal process when they ignore any ruling that comes out of the legal process. It's completely pointles.

I really wonder if Argentina is given good advice by their USA attorneys but chooses to disregard it and issue other orders?
Its really the only explanation I can come up with since they've lost every single court case and appeal.

I wonder if those American lawyers that Argentina has are just laughing up their sleeves?
Probably getting very rich by constantly extending the process and telling the Argentine Gov. that they still have a chance.

I think we will see penguins ice-skating in Hell before Argentina wins this one.

Still, 'Good Luck' to those lawyers... I expect they are at home right now, considering which yacht to buy... (maybe one with a heli-pad?)
    xx
