Argentina's Supreme Court in what is considered a lead case on Tuesday ruled contrary to Malvinas war pensions for the former soldiers who served with the Eighth Mechanized Infantry regiment, based in Comodoro Rivadavia during the 1982 conflict, because they were never involved in combat or participated in the Military Operations Theatre. Jul 08th, 2015 - 03:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@1, 2. Just to clarify, I have no particular interest in whether these argie dolts get a pension. But Betts was British at the time. He didn't put on an argie uniform so that he could, reasonably, be shot in the course of combat. As an admitted traitor, he could have been shot at the time. But he was allowed to run. For 33 years he has acted against his proper Head of State, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Let's set the real situation out. If he comes within range of a properly British person with a firearm, he can be shot as a traitor. No firearm? Bash him over the head with a hammer. Slide a suitable knife through his kidney. Whatever you want to do to remove the shame in a wash of Betts' blood. Don't forget to jump on him to force the blood out. Jump on his chest to break the ribs. Stop every so often so he can really feel the agony.

But Bettsy boy was, so he gets paid all those Argy tax Pesos.
You have to hand it to him, he makes/has made and very good living out of the Argy Tax Payer.
Hard life, and all that in Argentina, but not for him it would seem.
Positively the land of milk and honey.
Only in Argentina HaHaHa.

Rocketing housing costs in Britain's capital have fuelled a surge in Londoners seeking cheaper accommodation on boats, with increased numbers putting pressure on the city's historic network of rivers and canals.
Yet even more expensive boats, which can cost over £100,000, are still a fraction of the average London house price of £500,000, up 11 percent in a year.
Yet for many, waking up with ducks swimming by the window, and the freedom and sociability of the pretty tree-lined waterways compensate for downsides like emptying toilet tanks, trudging the towpath to do laundry or fetch gas cylinders, and vulnerability to thieves.
London private rents have increased to cost almost half the average salary.

Jul 08th, 2015 - 08:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Most did give up without a fight but only after realising that they had been told a load of lies and that the Falkland Islands were in reality British Sovereign territory.
@13: as opposed to the South American Miracle, that the economy is still going strong!!!! It's always been that way in the UK, house prices have always been just out of reach, but in London they've always been waaaaay out of reach to normal people.
Jul 08th, 2015 - 08:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's not news, dick. What has it got to do with soldiers not being entitled to pensions? Betts gets one and he wasn't even a soldier! They usually shoot spies.
@10 Warmer weather must be coming to Mendoza. Its when benthic animalcules rise to to their ephermeral day in the sun on the surface of the pond before extinction and sinking back into the ooze to be consumed by their other benthic Campora hungry colleagues.

I am sure their pensions will be approved if they become card-carrying members of La Campora.

In view of mounting evidence of sadistic treatment of Argentine colimbas (drafted recruits) by their officers, and not only in the Falklands, perhaps all former colimbas should get a pension.
Jul 10th, 2015 - 02:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0Betts has certainly taken the Argy government for suckers.
Jul 10th, 2015 - 12:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So, it would have benefitted the Argy soldiers if we had have hammered the mainland, including it in a theatre of operations and cost Argentina more money in handouts.
Next time they try it on there will be many Argentine servicemen thanking the Brits, when the areas involved in combat operations are increased.............
